Grant Salter, Advanced Bicycle Fit Technician:

My home state is Michigan. I started cycling in the early nineties. I studied Criminal Justice in college and pursued a career as a Police Officer. I soon discovered my true passion was cycling, not catching the bad guys.
I have an extensive background in the cycling business, including being a manufacturer's sales rep, a mechanic, as well as a wheel builder for a high-end wheel manufacturer. I was trained in Bicycle Fitting at the Serotta Fit School and later became an instructor at the school.
I also raced mountain bikes for several years, competing in many downhill competitions around the Midwest, and Canada. I enjoy running and have completed the NYC Marathon two times.
I became Signature Cycles first employee in October of 2004.

Aaron Hillebrand:

I was in college for a very long time. I was studying engineering. One day while mountain biking, I hit a tree with my head…the tree won. I had a good concussion and could not remember things well for a while. I took some time off from school, hiked to Mt. Everest, and rode my bike across the county. It was my Forrest Gump era. During this time, I also developed a love of photography and eventually received a BFA in photography from Parsons School of Design.
I started cycling when I was 15. I wanted to race in triathlons and I realized loved it. Then after a while I just got so sick of running and swimming triathlons seemed like a chore. I picked up mountain biking as an alternative and went a little nuts with it. I rode all over Michigan and then moved to Wyoming to ride the Teton’s for a year. Now that I live in NYC, I ride a road bike almost exclusively. On weekends I try to ride River Road or ride out to Nyack.
I started working with bicycles in 1996 at Village Bike shop in Grand Rapids, MI. Coincidently, Grant Salter was my co-worker there, too. After moving to NYC, I managed a shop in Nyack before coming to work at Signature Cycles. I was trained for bicycle fitting through the Specialized Fitting School, by the Assistant Airector of Serotta’s Fit School, and most importantly, in 2007 by Paul Levine at the Signature Cycles Fit School.
When I am not riding, working, or eating I am usually working on my art or visiting the museums and art galleries around the city.
I was married on October 20th, 2008; so far, it has been super great.

Anthony Mellor: Signature Cycles Master Mechanic
My name is Anthony, but around Signature Cycles they call me Ant. I am of British and Guatemalan descent. I was born in San Francisco, but was raised in Guatemala until age 10. I have a long history working around bicycles.
Early on I was the manager of Pedal Revolution, a not for profit business run by Youth Industries. I worked with the at-risk youth population, many of who were homeless. I taught the kids the value of good work habits, I taught them the trade of bicycle mechanics, I taught them that they could be someone. For me this volunteer position ingrained in me the importance of passion and pride for hard work done right.
Later I was a partner at a small boutique bike shop in San Francisco, named Salon de Biciclettes. We had lots of bike candy, enough to make the most eccentric bicycle afficionado drool. Bob Roll even stopped in one day and had a beer with us.
During a moment of weakness I took a job in the mainstream of the bicycle industry. Mediocrity dampened my spirits so I went on a quest to find an opportunity to both share and challenge my skills. Enter Signature Cycles.
I call Signature Cycles "Shangri La". I enjoy providing the ultimate in professional bicycle sales and service. I really enjoy building up each handcrafted custom frame with meticulous care and expertise.

Lori Hoefer

My formal training is in Therapeutic Recreation. I worked in mental health for 17 years before taking the leap of faith to follow my passion for cycling. I worked for 7 years with Serotta Competition Bicycles, manufacturer of the world’s finest handcrafted custom bicycles. I began working for Serotta Competition Bicycles in 1997 and evolved to the Director of Sales in a short period of time. Along with providing sales and product seminars to bicycle retailers across the country, I was responsible for coordinating the first edition of the Serotta Professional Bike Fit School, which has since become a standard for bike fitting in the industry.
In 2004 I moved to North Carolina to became co-owner of Cycling Specifics, LLC in Carrboro, NC. This custom bicycle studio saw rapid success and was ranked the #6 Serotta Dealer within 4 months. In 2007, I decided to return to the Northeast to join Paul Levine and his team at Signature Cycles in the launching of their new location in Greenwich, CT. Although I’ve raced bicycles for 15 years, my biggest thrill comes from injecting others with a passion for cycling. My other hobbies include riding my Harley Dyna Low Rider, making a racket on my drum kit, and playing Frisbee with my dog Edie.
My cycling credentials include:
Serotta Certified Advanced Bike Fit Technician
F.I.S.T. Certified Triathlete Bike Fit Technician
Masterfit University Certified Custom Footbed Master’s Technician
Barnett’s Intern 1 Mechanic Certification
USA Cycling Expert Level Coach
USA Race Official
3 time New York State Master’s Road Champion
1995 New York State Master’s Mountain Bike Champion
2001 Ranked #2 USA Cycling Masters Road 40-45

Soren Klingsporn:
Read about Soren's custom Serotta Meivici SE
I'm the newest member of the Signature Cycles team, having started at the Greenwich Studio in February of 2008. I grew up in northern New Jersey, but moved to Connecticut from Walla Walla, Washington. I've been riding bikes since I was old enough to balance; as I began breaking BMX and mountain bike parts, I learned to fix what I broke out of necessity. I raced my BMX for a couple years, and rode my mountain bike where I probably shouldn't have been riding it (that may be why I broke so many of it's components).
My first real job was during high school at Whippany Cycle in Whippany, NJ, I've been employed at a number of shops at various times since then. After earning a Bachelor's in Geology at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, I opened Allegro Cyclery in Walla Walla with two partners. In early 2007, I attended Paul Levine's first session of the Signature Cycles Fitting School. I returned to Walla Walla with a newfound appreciation for the precision necessary for a great bike fit, as well as a head full of fitting knowledge. I spent the next year at Allegro Cyclery honing my skills and gaining bike fitting experience. In February '08, I made the cross-country move to Signature to be involved in the best custom bike studio in the world.
A lot of my time (maybe too much time) outside work hours is spent riding my bikes. I'm a category two road and cyclocross racer, so I train and race the year round. I am very much looking forward to mucky, muddy cyclocross racing during the '08 New England 'cross season.
I enjoy most everything to do with bikes and cycling, but I also enjoy rock climbing, hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking, table tennis, and eating sweets (especially my wife's homemade pie).
