SIGNATURE CYCLES DOWN UNDER

IN SEARCH OF THE FINEST AUSTRALIAN CYCLING GOLD

One of the greatest things about cycling is its capacity to open up some of the most beautiful parts of the world. From the Classic Tours that wind up century old mountain passes in Europe to gravel expeditions that snake through Colombian rainforests. Cycling is at its best when boiled down to two simple ingredients; fun and discovery.

With this in mind we are incredibly excited to be flying half way across the world to visit Australia. With no introduction needed on the country's beauty – think golden beaches, ancient rainforests, coral reefs – Australia has become a burgeoning cycling destination in recent years. With the likes of Jai Hindley (Giro d’Italia 2022 winner) and EF rider/adventurer Lachlan Morton, it’s no wonder there’s a real buzz about the country.

Our expedition will take us first to Melbourne, where we’ll be meeting some of the country's top manufacturers. We’ll visit the factories of Bastion, Baum, Partington & Busyman (see below for more info) to talk with their founders and learn more about these amazing products first hand. You'll want to keep these outstanding makers in mind for your next build.

We then head to Adelaide, for a week hosted by Bastion, where we’ll watch the Tour Down Under, ride some iconic routes such as the Montacute descent and Willunga Hill, and visit some of South Australia’s finest vineyards. We’ll even be riding with some ex-pro riders such as Simon Gerrans!

Make sure you keep up to date with our social channels as we document this incredible trip and drop in the shop when we’re back — we’ll be bringing back some Australian cycling gold!

Bastion Cycles

Founded by a trio of Melbourne automotive engineers who refocused their talents on building luxurious custom bicycles, Bastion uses innovative technologies to build their carbon fibre frames, including 3D printed titanium lugs.

Not only do these bikes perform at the highest level, but they are truly unique in their style. If you follow our socials, you’ll see that we have built quite a few Bastion’s now; not to mention one of our favourite builds of 2022 — Ruedi’s Crossroad.

Baum Cycles

Baum, of Geelong, Australia, are best known for creating beautifully simple bikes, that seamlessly flow as if an extension of the rider. Darren Baum has been making flawless bespoke steel and titanium frames for over 30 years. Their machines are world-renowned and can proudly boast Australian cycling legend Phil Anderson as their official ambassador. As the first non-European to wear the Maillot Jaune in the Tour de France and a winner of multiple grand tour stages, Anderson’s choice certainly proves their pedigree.

We’re so excited to start building these incredible bikes, so be sure to come talk to us about them when we’re back.
