Alan's Parlee Ouray

This week we're featuring Alan's Parlee Ouray with a stunning custom paint job.

Alan came to Signature for a new road bike that would satisfy all of his needs as an experienced endurance cyclist.  He was looking for something lightweight that could also accommodate his riding position.  After a fit session, we found a couple excellent stock options that would work for him and he found that the Ouray would best suit his needs.

When it came to paint, Alan had a very specific shade of silver in mind.  Due to time constraints, Parlee did not paint the frame in-house; instead, Ron Jones of Pro Bike Design came to the rescue.  In order to ensure that the finish quality of a Parlee is consistently top-notch, Parlee usually doesn't allow other painters to paint their frames.  Ron might be the only person Parlee trusts to paint their frames because his work is always impeccable.

The quality of the silver paint is consistently amazing in various lights, and the logos are not black, but rather glossed raw carbon.  If you look closely, you can see how the light refracts off of the carbon logos.  The masking job is perfect and the result is very rewarding to behold.

For the build kit, Alan knew he wanted Shimano and wanted a really nice package that would serve him well for years to come.  The group and wheelset are Shimano Ultegra, balancing speed, weight savings and reliability.
