This very special bike was a surprise early Christmas present from Anne’s husband, Bill.
She thought they were stopping by the studio to drop off a bottle cage for paintwork, but Bill had an ace up his sleeve. And the look on her face when she saw her new Parlee Ouray painted in her favorite color was pure joy.
When Anne and Bill met, she said she was into biking so they went on a ride together and she had a minor tumble at the first stop sign, but she was unfazed. Despite that less-than-perfect start, they've ridden regularly and she is unstoppable – after many thousands of miles together they still ride all the time.
The Parlee Ouray model is of course inspired by the town of the same name, which is located deep in the San Juan mountains of Colorado where all roads deliver epic experiences. As you’d expect, this bike is purpose built for conquering its curves, epic climbs, and ripping descents. With clearance for 700x38c tires, the Ouray is the ideal bike for turning this any road into your own personal drop bar playground.
We confirmed Anne’s fit coordinates when she got onto the bike and it fit her just like her first custom Parlee Z-Zero.
The Parlee paint lab did an amazing job with this frame. The candy blue tint is translucent, so you can see the carbon underneath when it's in the sunlight. Bill selected a SRAM Red group for this bike, and the lightest electronic road group pairs perfectly with this very light and versatile frame. The Ouray can clear up to 38mm tires, making it an extremely capable all-road bike that will take Anne just about anywhere she wants to go.
Congratulations to Anne and Bill! We wish them many more years of joy and riding amazing bikes.
