Jake's Bastion Crossroad

This week we're featuring Jake's Bastion Crossroad.

Jake does a lot of gravel riding but spends equally if not more time on the pavement, so he wanted a top of the line quiver killer.  One bike to rule them all, and he calls it the Green Ranger.  This set up is currently sporting Pirelli 700x32 Race tires but the frame can clear up to a 43mm measured tire for more intense off-road application.

With a Shimano GRX 2X groupset, he's got all the climbing gears he'll ever need while retaining high enough ratios for racing as well.  A 48/32 chainring combination paired to an 11-36 tooth cassette can achieve lower than a 1:1 ratio and also as high as a 4.3:1 ratio.  That's a perfect set up for the punchy hills of Connecticut.

The finish is spectacular, a true head turner with the green and gold but there's another artistic element that's a little more subtle and is best seen up close.  The seat tube, inner chainstays and inner fork blades are all painted with an incredible diamond zig zag pattern involving four shades of gloss black/grey/silver.  That level of detail takes a lot of patience with a fine-tipped blade, an eye-watering amount of masking, and amazing control with a paint gun.
