This week we're excited to feature Joe's ENVE MOG.

Joe was referred to us by one of our Ambassadors, Nick Leeper.  Joe is an accomplished gravel racer and came to Signature Cycles in order to get properly fitted and to upgrade his gravel rig.  He knew his modern steel frame had a great ride quality, but was potentially holding him back in competition due to the weight.

After a fit session, Joe was elated to discover that an ENVE MOG would match his fit targets because it is renowned for being an excellent gravel race platform.  After we swapped his parts to the new MOG, his gravel rig had lost a whole two pounds.  This MOG will undoubtedly help him climb the ranks and slash time off his races.

The bike is outfitted with a Sram Force 2X group intended for road racing, but as an experienced rider, Joe has the power to climb steep grades with a 48/35 chainring combination paired to a 10-36 cassette.  This combination allows him to get just below a 1:1 ratio for climbing and a 4.8:1 ratio for powering across flat sections and descending.

The Zipp 303 XPLR SW wheelset is becoming an increasingly popular weapon of choice for gravel racing.  Due to its super wide inner rim width of 32mm, it is the most aerodynamically efficient gravel wheelset on the market and can hold more air volume for better shock absorption, minimizing suspension losses.  The rims aren't just super wide, they're also 54mm deep so they're designed for aerodynamic performance as well as being laterally stiff.  All of this in a wheelset that weighs only 1452 grams!  When it comes to gravel racing wheels, bigger is clearly better and these wheels have proven themselves in some of the roughest gravel races around the world.

Shortly after he picked up his new MOG, Joe participated in the Natchaug Epic gravel race in Thompson, CT and placed 17th in a field of 172, which put him in the top 10%.  The Epic route for 2025 was an 84 mile loop with 4,762ft of elevation gain, which is a serious undertaking for any experienced endurance athlete.

Joe's ENVE MOG will propel him sure footedly through just about anything.  Congratulations Joe!
