This week we are featuring Kristin’s Colnago C68 Gravel.

Kristin is a local rider, active within the cycling community and also competitive in the triathlete scene, she enjoys the challenge and fitness that an event like an Ironman brings to her lifestyle. This year, she turned her eyes to the gravel scene and wanted to give it a proper go with the right bike. She understands the benefits that a proper bike fit can bring and as a petite rider, the options in the market for a frame in her size are limited. We looked into various frame manufacturers and to our pleasant surprise, the Colnago C68 gravel (455 size) would work well for Kristin. She was also looking for a fast gravel bike, something that could move quickly in the dirt and something that would be light enough to help her get to the top of the climb faster. She was not looking for an adventure bike with lots of clearance or longer wheel base, in other words, she wanted a bike that would handle and feel like a road bike but on gravel, something that would help her with the transition from road to gravel without feeling slow or heavy. The Colnago C68 Gravel had all the qualities that Kristin was looking for.

We were lucky to be part of the product launch of the Colnago C68 Gravel in California back in January last year and we love it! The bike has that “race like” geometry that Kristin was looking for. This bike is super light, it embodies the race pedigree that makes Colnago one of the fastest bikes in the current pro peloton and now is available for gravel.

This is also one of the very few bikes that are hand made in Italy; the Colnago C68 Road, All-Road, Gravel and the steel Masterpiece are hand made in the Italian factory in Cambiago.

Kristin’s frame is the very first Colnago C68 Gravel in the US with the updates the company had prepared since the launch last year, the frame has clearance up to a 47c tire and it is UDH ready, making it compatible with the new SRAM XPLR or Eagle groups. Since Kristin was looking for something light and race ready, we went with the new SRAM Eagle Tranmission, making it light and also providing her the best gear ratios so Kristin can take it to any gravel event without worrying about gear ratio, she has it all!

The color of Kristin’s bike is also something special, we love that emerald green color in a matte finish, it is elegant, simple and just beautiful. It took a bit of time to get this special bike from Italy to the US, but it was worth the wait!

We thank Kristin for her patience and trust with this project and allowing us to deliver something truly exceptional!  Congratulations Kristin!
