Megan's Parlee RZ7

This week we are excited to feature Megan's Parlee RZ7! We are thrilled to present Megan's new bike. 

Megan is not just a friend and shop ambassador but she is also the current US Masters National Crit Champion. Over the past few months Megan has been instrumental in encouraging our local women’s cycling community to ride together on Fridays. We strongly believe in the importance of supporting the cycling community, especially women in the sport.

As a dedicated mother of three and a competitive swim coach, Megan still manages to find time to train, race and compete. We have watched her progress through the ranks of cycling and we couldn’t be happier for her when she achieved her national title.

At the beginning of 2024 we worked with Megan to ensure she had the proper bike fit. We did our best to adjust her current bike to achieve her perfect position, but with a mechanical group that required constant maintenance and a bike that was slightly too big for her, it became clear that a new bike was necessary.

After several discussions regarding comparison of frame models and bike options, we determined that the Parlee RZ7 had everything we envisioned for Megan. Its aerodynamic truncated tube shapes will allow her to be fast and efficient during those quick crits, while the internal wiring keeps the front end slick and streamlined. The option to use a regular stem also enabled us to fine-tune her preferred riding position.

The stock paint color of the RZ7 was a bit too "masculine" for Megan's taste. Thanks to the reactivated Parlee Paint Lab (#parleepaintlab), she had the opportunity to select her favorite colors. She chose a custom purple with lavender decals, resulting in a classy yet eye-catching color combination.

To complete the build and provide Megan with the best tools to defend her title, we equipped the bike with Shimano Dura-Ace components and Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels.

This season we have collaborated with Megan to assemble a group of women who will join her in local races, hopefully helping her to defend her title as well.
