Today’s BOTW is Nathan’s Bastion Superleggera,
Nathan is a frame builder and the engineering apprentice at Bastion who kindly lent his bike to Abraham for Signature’s trip to Australia.
Nathan has a great reputation for being a strong rider. Having started cycling at the young age of 5, he has gained clout from some of the best cyclists in Australia and is someone to look out for!
With a preference for handling and speed, his bike is quick, nimble and fantastic on the climbs. With a 1x 48T chainring, rides on this bike are challenging and fast. Abraham described it as “an absolute pleasure to ride”.
The 3D printed stem and handlebar make it stable and solid when you’re out the saddle and super smooth and stiff going downhill. It gives you a sense of confidence when descending to go faster and ultimately helps you to become a better rider. Speeding down Adelaide’s ‘Corkscrew’ hill after stage 5 of the Tour Down Under was no problem on this beautiful machine. This bike certainly left an impression on Abraham; “if it feels this good now, I can only imagine how good it must feel if it were custom-made for me…I guess I need to get one to find out!”
We can’t thank Nathan and Bastion enough for their generosity, giving us one of the best biking trips we’ve ever had. More details to come on this incredible journey!
