BOB'S CUSTOM ENVE ALL-ROAD

This week we feature Bob's custom ENVE All-road.

Since our first visit to ENVE in 2021, we have been extremely intrigued about the ENVE custom bike project. The culmination of years working with carbon and producing the best wheelsets and components in the world, moving into custom frames was a logical progression for the Utah based manufacturer.

Bob was an attendee of our Tuscany trip in 2022 where we explored a mix of paved and gravel roads. Having conquered the historic dirt roads of Strade Bianche, Bob was inspired to create a custom bike of his own that would allow him to feel fast on paved roads but also free on gravel, if he decided to stray off the beaten path.

After a couple of months of debating between brands, Bob made his choice and ENVE got the nod.

Besides being one of 100 built in the US, the frame is also custom painted at the Utah facilities. Bob wanted something special, something that would be understated from afar but when viewed closely, had its own unique depth. He decided on Harlequin Matte with a rose decal finish.

The bike was built with the new Shimano R9270 Dura-Ace 12-speed group, with an 11/34 cassette and 50x34 crank. The natural wheel selection of course came from ENVE. Bob wanted the 3.4 SES wheelset that would allow him to climb but also find some aerodynamic gains.

The bike came pre-assembled directly from ENVE, who made sure the stem, steerer tube, saddle height were cut to Bob’s exact measurements.

Ordering this type of bike requires a great understanding of measurements, handling, and design. Most importantly though, a leap of faith from the client who we would later provide the perfect bike to.

The results are nothing short of amazing.

The bike fits Bob absolutely perfectly and to properly get familiar with it, he is joining us on our Girona trip this week where he will have the opportunity to put it through its paces on both road and gravel!
