This week we’re featuring a gorgeous bike, Phil’s Passoni Titanio Disco.

A very active cyclist with many years in the sport under his belt, Phil has a lot of experience in the saddle. For his next bike, Phil wanted to truly invest in his sport, and dive for the first time into the world of custom bikes. He approached us to guide him through the various options at his disposal, so he can choose the very best bike for his needs and desires.

Phil’s key requirements for this bike were durability and versatility, as well as a timeless and beautiful bike that would stand the test of time. It was clear from this brief that a lively, high quality titanium frame would be the correct choice for Phil, and no company make titanium bikes quite as beautifully as Passoni.

The Titanio Disco is Passoni’s take on the modern road bike platform, with an internally tapered head tube, partially internally routed cabling in the frame, a 12mm through axle and disc brakes. Always balancing technical credentials with beauty and elegance, Passoni are well known for their extremely high quality finishing, spending 30 hours finishing and polishing each frame. This frame is no exception, with perfectly polished lugs and welds.

For the final look of the bike, we paired the beautiful, raw titanium frame and black components with red accents, in the front fork, bottle cages and handlebar stem. This bright red, reminiscent of the red on the Italian flag, pairs perfectly with the simple beauty of the bike.

To complete the build, we chose the ENVE stem and handlebar combination, along with the the new and optimized ENVE 3.4 SES tubeless wheelset. To keep the project price-sensitive without compromising quality, Phil opted for the the new Shimano Ultegra 12 speed wireless group.

It goes without saying that a custom bike is always a significant investment. Especially for a first foray into the world of custom bikes, sometimes the most effective way to utilize that investment is in a versatile bike, with the durability to last forever, and with timeless beauty that won’t age.

We’re very happy for Phil and his new bike, and whilst there might be more bikes in his future, we know this Passoni will stay with him forever.
