This week we feature Alex’s ENVE Melee.

Alex found us whilst looking on the ENVE website for a local dealer selling the new ENVE Melee. As a startup person himself, he was pleasantly surprised when he clicked on our website and saw the array of writing, content and frequency of posts. Located in Brooklyn NY, Alex saw we weren’t far from him and decided to give us a shot.

After a few minutes on the phone, we quickly understood one another. Alex knew what he was looking for, a modern road bike that would allow him to ride fast in Central Park or Prospect Park but also ride for a long time comfortably if he wanted to ride up to Bear Mountain and back. He also needed help making some decisions when it came to the full build of his new project. This was a big investment for Alex, and we made sure that every detail received close attention.

We scheduled a fitting to confirm the measurements that he was using on his 2000’s Trek to make sure his set up and position would be perfect. After some back and forth to get it right, the Melee was ordered, a bike that prioritises efficiency and speed.

We built the bike with SRAM RED components, the wireless features but also gear ratio was key for Alex. We used the ENVE 3.4 set wheel set, an obvious and natural choice. The wheels matched the frame perfectly and provide Alex with the perfect balance between weight and aerodynamics. Going Tubeless was a bit scary for him, but after discussing the many good and benefits of this technology, he decided to give it a try. Lastly, he also decided to upgrade the bottom bracket to a CeramicSpeed T47 - it’s hard not to when the bearings feel so good!

We can’t thank Alex enough for making the trip, taking the leap of faith and trusting us with his new bike. We are confident he is going to love it for many years to come!
